Matt is anxiously cleaning for my Mom's stay;
he's even cleaning the stove!!!
(Which is more than I can say I've ever done.)

Matt (whilst still cleaning!) contemplates a week without yours truly.
(And shudders at the thought, obviously.)

At 5:45 pm Matt left a message on my cell and said surgery went well, surgeon took out about a foot of small/large intestine (at junction)as well as remnants of abcess and appendix. He stated that she is waiting to be placed in a room (he didn't see her yet) and that "...all the news is good."

That's great to hear the surgery went well. When is Kathryn able to be back at home for recovery?
ReplyDeleteHi Angela--Kathryn will be in the hospital 5-7 days, then home 2-3 wks. before she returns to work. She called me last night and was happy that she's in a private room and stated they probably put her there because she's in a lot of pain, and would annoy a roommate with her moaning and groaning. (Hmmm--maybe she should continue with the moan/groan routine even after she feels better, to justify her stay there with the hopes the staff won't put her in a shared room.) Her whole torso hurts, and she mentioned that the abscess remmnants were attached to her pelvic bone, and that could have been the cause of pain prior to surgery. I would like to give a shout out to Matt, her hubby, who has been with her the whole time through this dreadful illness and has been so supportive. She did say to me, "I don't know what I would do without Matt." We love you too, Matt! Ooohhh...the stove looks good too! Alicia
